Disney Vacation Club's New Resort - The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa

A couple of month's ago I had a chance to stay at Disney Vacation Club's new resort, the Villas at the Grand Californian. Located right near the entrance to Disneyland, this is a great place to stay if you are planning a visit to the Anaheim parks. You can actually enter California Adventure right from inside the hotel grounds and Downtown Disney is just on the opposite side of the lobby, so all of the Disney magic is close at hand.

Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is, in my opinion, Disneyland's best resort hotel and it has been around for several years now. I used to see them building it when I was living in Los Angeles and visiting Disneyland on a regular basis. Now though, they have expanded the resort and the expansion is all Villas for the Disney Vacation Club.

What this means for DVC owners is reduced costs for staying at The Grand Californian. I've stayed there before on points in one of the hotel rooms, but now that the DVC Villas are open, it cost fewer points per night to stay in a studio, which gives you a bit more room than the standard hotel rooms. The lay-out for the villas, as far as I can tell, is virtually the same as the rooms at my other favorite Disney resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge Villas. The difference is in the soft furnishings. They features lots of Arts & Crafts motifs and the idea is that you should feel like you are staying in a great lodge in Northern California.

There's been a lot of talk on the various Disney forums that if you want to stay at the Grand Californian Villas then you better own there and buy soon as there are only 48 villas total. But I own at Saratoga Springs at Disney World and still had no problem booking a stay in the Villas at the Grand Californian for a few nights in November, only a few weeks after they were officially opened for reservations. I suppose that may change in the future, but I think if you really want to visit and are flexible with your dates and unit sizes, then it shouldn't be a problem.

Now there is one change at the Grand Californian that I don't care for too much. As a result of needing the extra room to build on the property, self-parking for the resort is no longer directly in front of the resort. You have to cross Disneyland Drive now to get to and from the parking lot. It's nearby, but still a hassle. Valet parking, however, will set you back $17 a day plus tips, so if like to spend your money on better things that parking the car, then self-parking will just have to do!

Top 5 Things Disney Pop Century Resort

The Disney Pop Century Resort is the newest of Disney's Value Resorts. It's also one of the largest and most interesting hotels anywhere on the planet.

Hotels come in two types. Those with the room doors on the inside and those with room doors on the outside. The Pop has it's room doors on the outside. Most hotels of this type are a little drab and rundown, not the Pop. It's bright, clean, freshly painted and just a lot of good fun. Check it out.

#1 - The Icons - No one else creates hotels like Disney and this is truly a Disney original. Walking through the Disney Pop Century Resort will make just about anyone over the age of 5 smile. There are King Kong sized Twister games, there are 8-Tracks the size of pickup trucks, 50 foot tall Big Wheels, and a whole lot more fun, and interesting things scattered about. To brighten up your day you can walk around the resort and read the sayings on the top of the buildings. It will bring a smile to the faces of most adults.

#2 - The Stairway -. Stairs are not usually a very interesting part of a hotel, that is unless it's a Disney hotel. You should see the stairways at the Pop. They are works of art. Each group of buildings has a different enclosure for the stairways. In the 50's area, it's giant bowling pins. in the 60's it's bowling pins. It's all just so much fun.

#3 - The Twister game - Did you ever play Twister growing up? You've got to check out the Twister game area at the Pop Century. Disney has actually made it part of the decorations. They've even painted a twister "board" on the ground. Grab a bunch of friends and give it a spin. Left foot, green...

#4 - The Pools - Did you ever want to go swimming in a computer, or a bowling pin? You've got to see these pools. They are incredible. Only Disney would find a way to make a swimming pool into part of the decorations. Even the lifeguards get into the act. During the day when certain songs play, they all get up and dance. Disney Old Key West Resort - Original Disney Vacation Club Resort

The Disney Old Key West Resort is a favorite destination for many families for a great fun getaway. Located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, this deluxe villa resort is the perfect place to enjoy the leisure and romance of the Florida Keys. Favorite Walt Disney World Resort

Disney World resorts in Orlando Florida are categorized into three distinct price levels. The value resorts consist of Disney's All Star Movie, All Star Sports, All Star Music and the Pop Century resort.

All are decorated with large Disney icons featuring cartoon characters from their movies, there is even a large beetle car embedded in the wall of the All Star Movie Resort to remind you of the love bug Disney film.

The music resort, as you expect has musical instruments as icons, a large drum and a violin help to fix the Disney ingenious theme in your mind, this is my favorite value hotel.

Disney Moderate priced resorts.

The moderate resorts are made up from three of the worlds most popular area's namely the Port Orleans resort which is divided into two distinct halves, the riverside and the French quarter, the riverside is my favorite, one of the advantages of staying at Port Orleans is the free use of a water taxi which transports you down to the Disney Down town area. Lynn and I love the riverside area, it is our favorite.

The Caribbean Beach Resort has 2,112 bedrooms in 33 colorful 2-story buildings on the shores of a 42 acre lake, it has a lovely relaxing carefree atmosphere to it, and if you close your eyes you really would think you are on a wind swept Caribbean Island.

All Disney resorts have a very convenient benefit to all those staying in Disney Hotels. Free transport is provided from your resort to all Disney theme parks and back to your hotel. When you are in Epcot, you can jump on the monorail, or when you visit Magic Kingdom you have full use of the train, you board it just above the entrance to the Magic Kingdom, it transports you around this wonderful entertaining park, you can get off and on at the different area's, it helps with those aching feet.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is a Southwest themed resort hotel encircling Lago Dorado a glimmering 22 acre lake, that evokes the spirit and romance of Spanish-colonial Mexico. Unfortunately, the queen suffered from pain during pregnancy, struggling to survive for the sake of herself and the child she is carrying. In desperation, a bodyguard desperate to steal the magic of plants from the garden of a wicked witch named Gothel. Queen and their baby daughter, Rapunzel in good health and have the strength.

Revenge for stolen plants, and still wanted the power and strength, Gothel kidnap Rapunzel. Rapunzel grew up, locked in the tower, accompanied only by the evil Gothel. Gothel always forbade her to leave the tower.
When Rapunzel reached her twelfth year, the enchantress shut her away into a tower in the middle of the woods, with neither stairs nor door, and only one room and one window. When the witch went to visit Rapunzel, she stood beneath the tower and called out :

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair, so that I may climb the golden stair."

Upon hearing these words, Rapunzel would wrap her long, fair hair around a hook that sat beside the window and drop it down to the enchantress, who would then climb up the hair to Rapunzel's tower room.

One day, a prince rode through the forest and heard Rapunzel singing from the tower. Entranced by her ethereal voice, he went to look for the girl and found the tower, but was unable to enter. He then returned often, listening to her beautiful singing, and one day saw Dame Gothel visit, thus learning how to gain access to Rapunzel. When Dame Gothel was gone, he bade Rapunzel let her hair down. When she did this, he climbed up, made her acquaintance, and finally asked her to marry him.

Together they planned a means of escape, wherein he would come each night (thus avoiding the enchantress who visited her by day). When the prince called that night, he found himself staring at the witch instead of Rapunzel, who was nowhere to be found. When she told him in anger that he would never see Rapunzel again, he leapt from the tower in despair and was blinded by the thorns below.

One day, while Rapunzel sang as she fetched water, the prince heard Rapunzel's voice again, and they were reunited. When they fell into each others' arms, her tears immediately restored his sight.

One Step Closer (AFF Suzuki Cup 2010)

I'm so glad. Tonight Indonesian favorite football team won the semifinal against the Philippines. Thanks to El Loco (Gonzales) who already contributed 1 (one) goal for Indonesia. Thanks also to Zulkifli Syukur, who can throw the ball at the goal line with his head, when Mark failed to catch the ball from Philippines player.

Sure! We really deserve it! Especially for the football team. Hopefully this achievement can be maintained continuously. Who knows, the next world cup, Indonesia can participate in the game. I'm so glad, coz I'm an Indonesian ^_^

PANDA (my favorite animal)

Mommy and I actually have the same hobbies and preferences of the same type of animal. Mom likes cats, but I prefer Panda as my favorite animal. They're cute, soft and spoiled. like me and mom, hehehe ..

I prefer the Panda, it doesn't mean I don't like cats. But this time I wanted to write about pandas. I told mom that I would write about the panda, and promised tomorrow I will write about her favorite animal, Cats.

This is what I know about the PANDA .. (From Wikipedia)

Giant Panda or summarized Panda, is a mammal usually classified in the bear family, Ursidae, which is native to central China. The Giant Panda lives in mountainous regions, like Sichuan and Tibet. In half of the 20th century the last, the panda became a kind of symbol of Chinese nation, and now displayed in the gold country. The Giant Panda is the symbol of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), nature conservation organizations.

Although the taxonomy is a carnivore, but the type of food such as herbivores, most of the plants, and bamboo. Technically, like many animals, the panda is omnivorous, because they are also known to eat eggs, and also insects. Both these foods are sources of protein needed


Giant Panda also has a brother, the Red Panda. It's more like a raccoon. Red pandas have thick fur brownish red in color and black-legged. It face is round white with brownish red line from eye to mouth. Long tail with a ring of twelve red and brown criss-cross-young. Tread feet covered by white fur, which is useful to keep the body warm and to walk on snow or ice surface.

You know a movie about the Panda? Yeah, right! Kung Fu Panda. The story is very funny. I love the Po, the Panda. although he is stupid, but he's very adorable. Luckily my mom bought The Kung Fu Panda's dvd for me. Thankyou mommy! *laff,, laff
