Top 5 Things Disney Pop Century Resort


The Disney Pop Century Resort is the newest of Disney's Value Resorts. It's also one of the largest and most interesting hotels anywhere on the planet.

Hotels come in two types. Those with the room doors on the inside and those with room doors on the outside. The Pop has it's room doors on the outside. Most hotels of this type are a little drab and rundown, not the Pop. It's bright, clean, freshly painted and just a lot of good fun. Check it out.

#1 - The Icons - No one else creates hotels like Disney and this is truly a Disney original. Walking through the Disney Pop Century Resort will make just about anyone over the age of 5 smile. There are King Kong sized Twister games, there are 8-Tracks the size of pickup trucks, 50 foot tall Big Wheels, and a whole lot more fun, and interesting things scattered about. To brighten up your day you can walk around the resort and read the sayings on the top of the buildings. It will bring a smile to the faces of most adults.

#2 - The Stairway -. Stairs are not usually a very interesting part of a hotel, that is unless it's a Disney hotel. You should see the stairways at the Pop. They are works of art. Each group of buildings has a different enclosure for the stairways. In the 50's area, it's giant bowling pins. in the 60's it's bowling pins. It's all just so much fun.

#3 - The Twister game - Did you ever play Twister growing up? You've got to check out the Twister game area at the Pop Century. Disney has actually made it part of the decorations. They've even painted a twister "board" on the ground. Grab a bunch of friends and give it a spin. Left foot, green...

#4 - The Pools - Did you ever want to go swimming in a computer, or a bowling pin? You've got to see these pools. They are incredible. Only Disney would find a way to make a swimming pool into part of the decorations. Even the lifeguards get into the act. During the day when certain songs play, they all get up and dance. Run right over and check it out.

#5 - The Hustle - Every afternoon at 6:00, the staff at the check-in counter does The Hustle. It's just another way Disney goes out of their way to make guests feel welcome. Stop by the Pop Century Resort and see it for yourself.
