Disney Old Key West Resort - Original Disney Vacation Club Resort

The Disney Old Key West Resort is a favorite destination for many families for a great fun getaway. Located in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, this deluxe villa resort is the perfect place to enjoy the leisure and romance of the Florida Keys. The Resort has a wide range of amenities, activities and entertainment options that are tailored to families and anyone looking for a relaxing and memorable vacation.

Guest Rooms

Guest rooms come in a selection of sizes. Choose a roomy villa with up to three bedrooms or a cozy studio. Rooms are set apart from the main building and give a feeling of a neighborhood community. Wheelchair access and features for the hearing impaired are also included in selected rooms.

The Deluxe Studio features a private balcony or porch and two queen beds, while the kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave and wet bar makes it easy to put together meals or snacks. Ceiling fans create a tropical breeze, and each room has a vacuum cleaner, fire extinguisher and satellite TV with Disney programs. High-speed Internet service is provided for a fee.

The villas have separate bedrooms areas plus full kitchens stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, stove, refrigerator and toaster. A full-sized washer and dryer combination means fewer clothes to pack. All rooms include a Pack 'n Play Play-yard for little ones.

The Conch Flats General Store located in The Hospitality House at the center of the Disney Old Key West Resort has just about anything you would need in the way of groceries, sundries and Disney souvenirs.

Grab a quick meal at Good's Food To Go, which serves an American fare of sandwiches, hot dogs, burgers, salads and ice cream. Meals can be eaten at the outdoor seating area or taken back to guest rooms.

Olivia's Café has a comfortable and casual atmosphere and serves home-style American meals and Florida's famous fresh seafood.

For those who get hungry while floating on or lounging in the pool, the Turtle Shack Snack Bar is close by and serves frosty beers, soft drinks, snacks and hot and cold selections.

Activities

There are plenty of activities at the Disney Old Key West Resort, and one of the most popular is to take to the water on a pedal or pontoon boat or canoe. The Conch Flats Community Hall is a great place to relax and watch television on a large screen set, rent a DVD or challenge family members to a game of foosball, table tennis or one of the many board games.

Take a ride around the Resort on a bike or shoot some hoops on the Basketball Court. Two arcades, each stocked with exciting and challenging video and pinball games, as well as outdoor movies, three tennis courts, a jogging trail and four pools mean no one will ever complain of being bored.

Favorite Walt Disney World Resort

Disney World resorts in Orlando Florida are categorized into three distinct price levels. The value resorts consist of Disney's All Star Movie, All Star Sports, All Star Music and the Pop Century resort.

All are decorated with large Disney icons featuring cartoon characters from their movies, there is even a large beetle car embedded in the wall of the All Star Movie Resort to remind you of the love bug Disney film.

The music resort, as you expect has musical instruments as icons, a large drum and a violin help to fix the Disney ingenious theme in your mind, this is my favorite value hotel.

Disney Moderate priced resorts.

The moderate resorts are made up from three of the worlds most popular area's namely the Port Orleans resort which is divided into two distinct halves, the riverside and the French quarter, the riverside is my favorite, one of the advantages of staying at Port Orleans is the free use of a water taxi which transports you down to the Disney Down town area. Lynn and I love the riverside area, it is our favorite.

The Caribbean Beach Resort has 2,112 bedrooms in 33 colorful 2-story buildings on the shores of a 42 acre lake, it has a lovely relaxing carefree atmosphere to it, and if you close your eyes you really would think you are on a wind swept Caribbean Island.

All Disney resorts have a very convenient benefit to all those staying in Disney Hotels. Free transport is provided from your resort to all Disney theme parks and back to your hotel. When you are in Epcot, you can jump on the monorail, or when you visit Magic Kingdom you have full use of the train, you board it just above the entrance to the Magic Kingdom, it transports you around this wonderful entertaining park, you can get off and on at the different area's, it helps with those aching feet.

Disney's Coronado Springs Resort is a Southwest themed resort hotel encircling Lago Dorado a glimmering 22 acre lake, that evokes the spirit and romance of Spanish-colonial Mexico. The brightly colored Spanish style Guest rooms are separated into 3 distinctly themed areas. The Casitas offer an urban terra-cotta paradise.

The rustic Ranchos resemble charming Southwestern pueblos. Cabanas provide a quaint beachfront retreat complete with cozy hammocks. Want to unwind after a busy day of theme park amusement and excitement? The 22 person hot tub, is one of the largest at any Walt Disney World Resort Hotel, an ideal relaxation benefit provided by Disney.

Disney Deluxe resorts

Disney Polynesian resort is my favorite deluxe hotel on the Disney World Orlando campus, the beautiful white sandy beaches and excellent swimming pools make it one of the most relaxing hotels. Large clean, well decorated themed rooms, with Magic Kingdom views make this resort really special, there are rooms which give you views of the splendid Cinderella castle in Magic Kingdom.
